I logged in to Super Hostile Online, standing in Valgarde Square. Just standing there I could tell the city looked…prettier. Roofs had more detail, overall more decor, pulling me into the scene, the city. I found cute, little houses that look so cozy I want to move right on in.
Now, I knew enough that my first thing to do was play with the new ATM banking system; I went and got all the g and G I had accrued (gold and gold ingots) and clicked the “deposit 10G” with a crafting bench and enderchest ready. Modern convenience!. Then I clicked the button to check my balance. Then I pulled it all back out and went to buy some levels.
I then went to the Class Garden and to get a class, there is Fighter, Defender, and Scout. If you’ve played any type of RPG you can guess what they are about. Each class gets several buffs and daily goodies (splash potions at sunrise and sunset among other things). And the ultimate rank of each class unlocks a special class that is really powerful. So this becomes something important to work towards upgrading over time.
So off I go with my class hat, and wander out the east gate of the city, toward Eastwatch. I know the loot tables have been changed, and I’m excited to get loots. One thing is obvious immediately; now that natural spawns are turned off, and all monsters are spawner-borne, the monster amount is much more stable and consistent. I was able to quickly accumulate gold, mostly the small nuggets (1 g) but a few of the ingots, too. It’s nice, and reassuring to know, that if I die and lose my inventory, I can go to the bank, withdraw what I’ve deposited, and re-kit. You can purchase swords, armor, shields, and other supplies at the Cut Above shop, grab a class hat, and be reasonably equipped quickly. I like that! Another time, I fell in lava… Of course, cause that’s what I do.
There is so much more, but this feels like a good place to stop this post. Still so much more; dungeons, dojos, trade packs… OH! And survival housing, which I haven’t even been to yet.
